Christmas is over!

I can't believe that Christmas is now over. It seems like the time just flew by. We had a lot of fun with our families and now I am sad that it is over. I wish that we had just maybe one more week of fun. We went to my parents on the morning of Christmas Eve and had a brunch and opened presents. It was a lot of fun and Sammy actually liked opening presents this year and so that made it even more exciting! Here are some pics from this event. I will post more Christmas pics with the Jenne's when I get them from them!

Sammy and her yammy

So once again Sammy has been sick-but this time really really sick. She got sick on Sat and starting throwing up like crazy-i am sure you don't want to know all the details but since I am the one writing you have no other choice. It was so sad because she even threw up in her crib a few times-which was a good thing I kept checking on her. Sun she couldn't keep anything down and so by today, she was just a limp little Sammy. She was laying around not moving and was having a hard time taking any liquid. I got pretty worried and so I took her to the doctors. I found out she had an ear infection in both ears pretty bad as well as the flu and being dehydrated. I was supposed to watch her all day and if she didn't improve I was told to take her to the after hours doctor and most likely she would need an IV. Well luckily towards the end of the day, she improved a little and even drank some apple juice and ate a little so I think she will pull through. It's really hard to see your kid so sick and there isn't anything you can really do for them besides try to comfort them. SO no pic again....but next time so be waiting.

I Know I know

I know its been awhile since posting and you are all hoping that I haven't died. I just haven't taken any pics and so I feel kind of dumb posting with no pictures. What a bad mother huh? Sammy and I have been out of commission this week and kinda sick-hence the no pictures. I promise next post we will have some new ones. The breakthrough for this week is that this morning she said "Mom!" I was so proud. It was kind of hard for her you could tell because she hasn't been able to say her m's before unless it was on accident. She then said "Mom" a few more times and I was really feeling good about myself. Next I hope she says "Mommy!" I love my little bug!

A BIG MESS

So the other day I made sugar cookies, and Sammy seemed willing to help. She loves having the chair pushed up by the counter and so I was letting her "help" me. To say the least, she got flour everywhere and it even ended up in the the little cupboards by her and so they had to be all wiped out. One time I looked over and saw that she was putting a little piece of dough in her mouth, and I really didn't mind because it was cookie dough of course, and then I looked over and she took the piece out of her mouth and put it in the ball of cookie dough that I was about to roll out. Gross!! So I had to get rid of some of that dough. It's funny because she really isn't a cookie person. She doesn't even like to eat them when they are cooked, but she sure likes to try and help make them!

In a Blizzard

So yesterday we went to find the perfect tree in Francis, UT with the in-laws. It is kind of a tradition with the Jenne's to go find and cut down a Christmas tree. Jake's mom and I went earlier this month to get tree permits at an insanely early hour of morning, and so we were all set to go. We all thought it was going to be kind of weird because it hadn't snowed yet but the late into the night on Friday, it snowed. So we woke up to the world of white and Sammy couldn't stop saying "whoa!" We drove to Francis about 1 1/2 hours away from Orem and then ended up hiking all over the mountain looking for the perfect trees. Sammy ended up getting extremely heavy and we all had the thought "Hmmm..we should have brought a sled to pull her around in." Yeah, too bad we didn't get that inspiration a little earlier that morning. But next year we are set! It ended up snowing while we were hunting and so we of course got some great pictures. We did end up finding a great tree and I even helped pull it back to the car.

6 Things About Me

So I was tagged by my friend Erika to write 6 facts, quirks, or just plain things about myself and this was what I came up with.
1-I can't whistle. I can't even get out a little one. Whenever anyone hears this, they try to take it upon themselves to teach me and end up just disappointed.
2-I love pillows. I have to sleep with between 3-4 every night which is annoying to Jake because just maybe they overtake our little queen bed. I just tell him we need to upgrade and get a king size so me and all my pillows will fit!
3-I hate cooking but love to make desserts. Does this make sense? I cook dinner everyday because it is a necessity not because I like it all. But I do LOVE to try new dessert recipes because I love sweets so much!
4-I don't like to shower or take baths. Now this doesn't mean that I don't! I do almost everyday but I just don't like them because its so repetitive. I mean you just wash the same parts again and again. I really just wish I didn't have to waste my time on showering-blah.
5-I love getting the mail. I know exactly when the postman is coming each day and pretty much I just look out the window waiting for him. Most the time the mail is not too exciting, but every once in a while there is a surprise. I love holidays and birthdays!
6-I never ever get sick of pizza. I love it! I like almost every brand and every kind. Once when I was a sports camp counselor at BYU, I ate it for about a week straight and I loved it. Although, I did gain an extra 20 lbs that summer!
So thats me! Anyone else who reads this, I tag you!

I AM AN ELF TOO

Cheese Everywhere

So yesterday night I ran to Walmart with Sammy to grab a few groceries. You know how crazy Walmart is. I really didn't want to go but really needed to get a few things and couldn't put it off anymore. Well first let me preface this. Lately Sammy has been really fighting a grocery cart. She screams and yells when I put her in the front, but she loves the carts with the little cars in front. So yeah, do you think at primetime 7:00 pm in Walmart there is going to be a car cart available-think not! So I ended up with a regular cart and just let her sit (well mostly she stands and yells Hi to everyone walking by) in the back. We decide to head to the chip isle because I am desperately needing some chips and dips, it was just that time. I find the items I am crazy for, including a glass jar of cheese dip. About 10 seconds after I put it in the cart, I see just in time and pretty much in slow motion Sammy throwing the cheese out of the cart. Of course, the jar breaks and cheese flies everywhere. So what is a mother to do? People are looking at me like I am crazy and can't control my kid and I am thinking I want to hurt my child while Sammy looks at me and goes "Uh Oh" very slowly. Definitely uh oh is right I tell her. I then start to see if I can see a Walmart worker, anyone who would actually help me. I rush down a few isles and luckily see an older man putting cleaning supplies on the shelves. I run over to him and tell him what happens, the whole story, and then he looks at me and says "speaka no anglish." Great job Jenn, glad I could find some one to actually help. I say "amigos anywhere" but he just shrugs and so then I start rushing around to find my next Walmart victim. I end up clear in the Electronics, which you all know is really no where near the food section. He is a young kid with big curly hair and I am just hoping that he will take care of the problem. I tell him the story and he looks at me with this duh look on his face and says "I can't really leave this area." So I say, "Can't you call someone to clean it up?" and he says that he can't. So I tell him thanks so much for his care and assistance and head off. As I head back to the crime of scene, pretty much embarrassed and tired of the whole incident as well as I trying to keep Sammy sitting in the back of the cart instead of climbing out, I realize that it really isn't worth it. Here I was trying to help with the problem that I caused, and no one even cared. I decided that I was finished grocery shopping and reluctantly told the cashier what happened to which she responded "I will just call the maintenance crew. This happens all the time." So what a day. I am putting off going grocery shopping again for awhile until we run out of macaroni and cheese and ramon.

Look A Like

So I thought I would try this out since Jamie did, especially since Sammy doesn't look much like me and what do you know-she does! I was very pleased with the results.

Awake for 48 hours or more

This year my sisters and I decided to do the all night shopping thing after Thanksgiving starting with the mall since it opened at midnight and ending with Lowes (don't ask). It was insane but we managed to have a fun time anyways. My favorite line was from my sister Missy who by 7:00 a.m. had bloodshot eyes said "I am so awake! I don't even feel tired at all!" All in all we found some great deals, met some funny people, had some very funny moments, and laughed a lot. And no, we didn't take the babies with us (that was the best part).
But Thanksgiving morning we did take some cute pictures of Sammy.

I am alive

So I haven't posted for awhile and I am sure that you are all probably wondering why and if I am still alive. Yes, I am alive and no I really don't have a good excuse for not writing. Well I could say that this past week was very busy for me...I had to work a lot because For Every Scrapbook was having their semi annual big sale Thurs, Fri, and Sat. You know how it is when you are a VIP. Anyhow, that is over with for now. The big news of today is that Jake got a new calling-he is an assistant scout master-whatever that really means. All I know is that now he get's to go camping guilty free without his wife and daughter, leaving us home alone on the weekends. Although, this may be in my best interest because now I can go on overnight scrapbook trips and also be guilty free so I am excited for that. We haven't taken any really recent pictures but hopefully we will soon when my photographer becomes available. So long for now!

Another Day

So here are some cute pics of Sammy and Aleia that Dixie took at the park a few weeks ago!
It was cute to watch them follow each other around the park since they are only a few months apart! They also liked to get into trouble though and in one of the pics you can see that Sammy is the leader trying to get the two of them to climb up the steep stairs! I am sure going to miss the nice warm weather since Sammy and I have been going to the park at least once a day! We did find the Provo mall though last week and they have a lot of really cool toys in the little play area that Sammy loved and so we might be there everyday in the winter! Jake might not be a fan of that-me going to the mall everyday!! I'd say it would be perfect!

So last week we carved pumkins at Jake's parents house and had a lot of fun. Sammy enjoyed pulling out the guts as well as taking the pumpkin tops on and off! Here are some pics!

Missed a few days

So I missed a few days. Who doesn't? It was a busy weekend plus Maegen and Carter were here and so maybe I can blame it on them. Actually, he should be forgiving since I took some really cute pics of Carter and Sam right before Maegen left and then later that day he erased them as he was going to take some pics (not knowing I had taken pics with his camera earlier that morning). I was going to post my little nephew on here but now I can't. Can I borrow some Maegen? I don't have any pics to put up yet because the internet is only hooked up to our old computer and the new computer has all the pics. Hopefully we can get it working soon! So bye for now!

So Sammy loves to play with her cousin Taylor who is 6 mo. younger than her. She is always hugging and kissing him. The other day, he was sitting at his high chair and she pulled out a chair and climbed on it to play with him. All the sudden we heard a noise, and looked over to find her feeding him a huge spoonful of fry sauce that she found on the table! He was pretty disgusted and I wish I could've taken a picture of that. It's funny to watch her try to be a little mommy!

So I haven't posted for a long time but its really not my fault. We had dial up internet for awhile until we could get high speed in our new area, and it really stunk. You probably all know how long it takes to get anything to load with dial up, I learned how to do a lot of things in my spare time ( like make dinner, play games, laundry, and yada yada). Anyhow, Jake says that if I write everyday then he will customize this blog for me and so I am going to hold him too it!

Sammy is getting so big these days. She is almost a year and a half. She loves to watch Finding Nemo which she calls "No No" and is also learning sign language which really helps us to understand her better!

What to say?

Well I haven't written for a few days and so I thought I would. Samantha was sick last week and then of course being the dutiful mother, I got sick at the end of the week. It was a nasty flu that I don't wish upon anyone, but Jake was a great sport in taking care of two sickies that were constantly needing something. But since I had lots of free time, I did start the last Harry Potter book which I can't put down now. I am also finding myself blowing clues to Jake because its on my mind all the time which I really can't help. Anyhow, it is definitely one of the best books in the series.

Samantha at 14 months

Well Samantha is 14 months old now and it is hard to believe. She is quite the little toddler. She has been making new smirky faces and smiles which is fun. We go swimming a lot since we got a pass to Seven Peaks this summer and she loves the kiddie pools. We thought we would take some pictures in her cute little swimming suit!

Kanarra Falls- July 21, 2007

So this last weekend we drove the 3 hour drive to Cedar City to visit my sister Emily and also to hike the Kanarra Falls. It was pretty much the coolest hike that I have ever been on. Luckily, we borrowed a cool baby packback for Sam and so she was able to come with us too. I don't think she liked it so much since she was crying and whining a lot when I wasn't putting froot loops in her mouth but it was fun to see her play in the water once we got to the falls. It was also cool because one of the waterfalls you could actually slide down, which we did and got nice and cooled off. Jake took some great pictures and we can't wait to go there again.
