Sam & her doll

So I wish that I had something super cool to write about or tell something that Sammy and I have done that was really fun but we really haven't been up to much. We have just been taking it easy which is really getting quite boring but at least we have each other! She has been really funny lately and the other day as Jake was leaving for work after his lunch break, he said "I am going to take Mommy's car, is that okay?" and Sammy said, "No, don't take car. Take your bike!" It was pretty funny. I guess she doesn't like this new routine of being home all day which is so crazy. The exciting news is that slowly our basement is coming together and we should be getting carpet down there pretty soon. Also, Jake put together my scrapbook desk of glory back together so at least I can sit and scrap sometimes. I haven't much yet but when I start getting my energy back, I will! Anyhow, I love these pics of Sam with her doll. This doll really has been going everywhere with her lately and it's getting so dirty but I guess that is just what happens to a first and fav doll!

Blowing Bubbles & Chalk

Lately Sammy has enjoyed blowing bubbles outside and writing with chalk on the sidewalk. I figure if we go out early in the morning outside before it gets roasting hot, everyone has fun. I loved these pics of Sam blowing bubbles, she was actually getting the hang of it. Before she just ended up eating the bubbles.

On the next note, the next day after my ultrasound, I had my check up at the doctor's and found out that I pretty much had to go on bedrest. I guess I am at risk for toxemia due to too much protein, and so I have to rest a lot. I wanted to ask them how I was supposed to rest with a busy 2 year old but I don't think they could've answered that. So the last couple days have been pretty boring as I am supposed to be "resting." Hopefully my next dr. visit they will tell me
I am fine, but who knows. So any ideas of what to do when you are down for awhile? I am running out of ideas and movies for Sammy to watch and am wondering how we are going to survive the next few weeks of summer. I am sure we will get through but boy will it be long!!!

We are having a.....

Well it's official what we are having. We totally, okay mostly myself thought that we were having a boy. This pregnancy has just been so different this time around that I figured it had to be a little boy. I had even bought some little baby boy clothes last month. Anyhow, we are having a little GIRL so Sammy will have a little sister. I am pretty excited although that means we are adding another drama queen myself included! When Sammy saw her little sister on the ultrasound screen, she thought it was a little puppy. We had to keep explaining to her that it was her sister and I don't know if she ever got it. Now I can start getting ready for another little girl, meaning get her room ready and make more baby bows! I can't wait.

This is what Sammy thought

For some reason she has been saying this for the past couple of weeks and we aren't really sure why or where she got it from. I just wanted to get her on tape saying it.

I found her like this.....

The other morning I woke up to find Sammy here, right between our bedroom doorway and the hallway. Who knows how long she had been here!

Twinkle Twinkle

Here is Sammy singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star that I took on my new camera. She does a pretty good job but can't seem to keep her hands away from her face.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well today I had a rough start to my birthday but it ended very well. We woke up in the middle of the night to find that our basement had flooded AGAIN! Talk about kicking you when you are already down. So we had the lovely restoration company over at 3:30 a.m. and I was up until almost 7:00 with them. Luckily it wasn't as bad as last week but still going to really hurt us financially I am sure. Needless to say I was pretty dead this morning, and let Sammy run wild until I finally came to around noon. Dixie and Aleia came over for a little bit and Sammy was so happy to have someone to play with that she actually jumped and clapped when she heard she was coming over. The two of us then took a long nap and then grandma came to pick Sammy up so that Jake and I could go on a little date when he got home from work. We went to dinner at Brick Oven and then I got to pick out a cool little camera, a Nikon cool pix and boy is it cool. We then had yummy chocolate cake and icecream over at the Jenne's. So needless to say the day ended out well. It's weird to think I am 26 and getting closer to 30. I don't feel that old but time flies right?

Flood of '08

Well as most of you know, we moved into a new house last April. Two months later, in June our basement flooded because of some broken sprinkler whatevers. It was a big pain and took a long time to clean up. Luckily not too much was damaged and Jake was able to fix our sprinklers. Last monday, the boys, Jake, Nathan and Stan left early in the morning to go backpacking in the mountains (away from all civilization). Sammy and I left around 9 in the morning to go play with Maegen and Carter at the Jenne's. Later that day, Maegen and I were running a few errands and decided to quickly stop at the house to grab a few things. I was grabbing stuff while Maegen went to look at our backyard, and lo and behold she saw a waterfall going into our basement. She ran inside and said "Jenn, your basement flooded again." I ran downstairs and both of us watched as water was just pouring into our basement. It almost seemed like from a movie. We both just kind of froze there and I was thinking what in the world do I do? Last time, Jake just took care of everything including turning off the water, which I didn't know how to do. I finally kicked into motion and ran across the street to our neighbors and luckily was able to find some manly help. He helped turn off the water and then stayed for almost 2 hours moving furniture and everything out of the room with Maegen. We then waited for the same restoration co. to come and they were there until almost midnight working on things while Maegen helped me go through everything wet and damaged which was worse than last time. I am so grateful for her help because I don't know what I would've done. Anyhow, our basement is still a mess and we are unsure of the complete damage but I am sure we will find out this week, lucky us. So that was one of our fun adventures of the week!

4th of July

This year we had a great 4th of July. It started with the balloon launching at the Freedom Festival in Provo at 6:00 a.m. We then had a yummy breakfast at the Jenne's house. Later in the day, Jake's mom Christine and I headed over to check out the booths and festivities and boy was it crowded! We could hardly make it anywhere. We then had a great barbeque at the Jenne's and waited for the other Jenne's to make their long awaited trip from CA. We all then headed to the fireworks at Thanksgiving Point. It was fun because my sister Missy and her hubby met us there with Sammy's other favorite cousin (I can say that because there is only 2) and my younger sister Krissy. I think everyone enjoyed the show. The kids had fun running around everywhere like mad before the fireworks began. Sammy was kind of scared at first but then I think she enjoyed them. For the rest of the week, she called them "wirebooks" and wouldn't stop talking about it. All in all, it was a fun night (minus the long drive home after the show)!
