Maddie 5 mo. old

So Maddie is now 5 months old! I can't believe it. She is getting so big. Sunday her first tooth broke through on the bottom so no wonder she drools so much. She can soak her first shirt easily by noon. Maddie is such a good baby though. She sleeps so well and will sleep through the night most nights. She gives such big smiles and is always waiting for someone to look and smile at her! She loves her sister and Sammy is such a good sister to her, always finding her toys and making sure she is alright and giving her hugs.

Loves: sucking thumb, giving slobbery kisses, playing with her toes, baths, being outside, sitting up, playing with toys, her sister, to give big smiles, chewing on things, to drool, sleep, rice cereal, jumper, having Sammy get in her crib with her, watching cartoons with Sammy, pulling on hair

Dislikes: dirty diapers, being thrown in the air, being hungry, being tired, loud noises and voices

in the car..

and our conversation goes something like this.....(Sammy had to bring a stuffed monkey with her to run our errands).

Sammy: Mom, my monkey can't go in the store.
Me: Oh really? Why not?
Sammy: He is not being good in the car.
Me: Why? What is he doing?
Sammy: He's swinging around!!!
Then Sammy proceeds to say to the monkey "STOP Monkey!" A second later,
Sammy: Mom, the monkey stopped so he can go in the store now.
Me: Oh, good (and thinking to myself way to discipline your monkey).

That's pretty much how it went! Funny girl!

a little bit of heaven.....

i thought as both kids slept today at the same time and I had one whole hour to myself! it was wonderful. I talked to Lera and then scrapped for a bit. Ahh....the good old days. I wish I had this luxury everyday! I was in such a good mood after that I tried a photo shoot with the girls. It didn't go so well, but we tried!

where did the sunshine go?

So Monday, it was almost 70 degrees out and we had fun blowing bubbles and playing outside. But ever since......it has been raining and snowing and this morning we woke to this! Like how you can see Sam peeking out the door?


So we have been a little cooped up and so I decided to make the most of our time. Instead, we painted the upper hallway and downstairs hallway which I have been wanting to do for awhile. Before the chocolate color, it was a tan color. I should have done a before and after pic. I will take before pics of our room and the girls room before I start on them!

And we made these cute alphabet cards that we have been playing nonstop! (Can I just say once more that the silhouette is awesome!

Easter Pictures as you wish.....

Well our Easter celebration started on Sat. morning and we went to an egg hunt held by Orem City at Mountain View high school at 9:00 a.m. We barely made it on time and let's just say there really was a million people. The good part was that they had a toddler section ages 0-3 and so Sammy actually got a few pieces of candy. The whole egg hunt was over in less than 1 minute which was good because it started to rain just before it started! I don't think Maddie was that excited by it at all.

Then later that day we decorated Easter eggs. Sammy loved just dropping the eggs in different colors and went through a carton in about 5 minutes, which included enough time for her to spill the green dye! Maddie was sleeping through this festivity until the very end!


For some reason, at the end Sammy wanted her picture taken with every egg that she colored. I didn't post all those pics!

We started practicing hiding eggs a few days before so Sammy got the idea of it. She then loved to hide the eggs and we found them "hidden" like this!

Sunday, Easter morning, Sammy awoke to find the Easter bunny had come to her house. For some reason, the night before she asked if he would specifically be coming to her room, and I told her that since it was so messy-NO! Sammy loved finding eggs throughout the living room and racked in a good loot of candy. She pretty much ate candy for every meal that day (what a bad mom I am huh?) By the end of the day, she said she had a tummy ache-go figure!

and I forgot to take pics in their cute Easter dresses! I will take some soon when they wear them again. We went to church with Jake's parents and then later went up to my parent's house for dinner. My parents also did an egg hunt for everyone and Sammy got even more candy! All in all, a good time was had by all. We did manage to tell Sammy about the real meaning of Easter, the Atonement. I am not sure if she really got it but we tried! So now you know why I took forever to post, it took forever! and yes, I did cut my hair cut!

Sammy is in the kitchen! She loves to help me cook and be right by my side. Sometimes it's almost more than I can handle!

Sammy's first shower

I was so proud! Sammy took her first shower yesterday, usually she takes baths if you are wondering (she gets clean somehow I promise). Well lately she has not been wanting to take baths or shower because she really doesn't like water in her eyes, except for yesterday Jake set up the shower for her and she got in and loved it! She seemed so big showering by herself and she was very proud. Today she wanted to shower again and so we took a couple of pics! We also took some pics of Maddie in her bed. She is so smiley when she wakes up in the morning, which I love!
