christmas at the jenne's

Christmas was pretty eventful for the Jenne's this year. Besides having a one month old baby, everything was pretty great. We had a great Christmas dinner with the Jenne's last Sunday, a few days before Christmas, which included a turkey with all the fixings! Yum! Yum! We then opened up presents. Some of the fun things we received are Wii fit, tools, and camera stuff. Even Maddie got a few presents-which included a baby mobile for her crib (which hopefully she will use soon). Unfortunately, I have no pics from this event but I think some were taken. Jake and I exchanged presents on Christmas Eve before we headed up to my parents house. He received some new skiis, shoes, and camera bag. I received the Silhouette, Ginger font, vinyl to use with my new diecut machine, and David Archuletta cd. We then pretty much packed up our house and headed to my parents house. We had a great Christmas Eve dinner with everyone and then had a gingerbread house contest that was lots of fun. We then watched Fred Claus and ended up going to bed around midnight. My sister was nice and watched Maddie for the night so I even got some sleep since we didn't wake up until 8:00! Santa surely came and brought lots of fun things. My parents got Jake and I a patio table set that I had been really wanting. Sammy received a wagon that fits two that I am so excited for! We then spent the day playing games and Wii fit, and eating to our heart's content. We went sledding during the kids naps which was fun and even got our SUV stuck in the snow since there was so much of it! Everyone loved holding Maddie and were always fighting over her, so it was a nice break for me. All in all, we had another great Christmas!

Two week photos

Last week we tried to take Maddie's two week photos along with Sammy's 2 1/2 year photos. Neither of the girls were really cooperating but we got a couple good ones!

We found Maddie like this

buried in stuffed animals thanks to her big sister Sammy. Sammy is always giving her toys and animals to play with, which unfortunately Maddie doesn't even care about yet! Although, she does care when she is completely smothered! I love that Sammy is such a sweet big sister and always trying to help and take care of Maddie.

Coming Home

Well coming home has been a little bit of an adjustment but overall has gone pretty well, except for the lack of sleep. Sammy is such a good big sister. She is always helping me and getting things for Maddie when I can't. She loves to hold her (only for about 5 seconds though). The funny thing is that she calls Maddie a "he". She is always saying "He has his eyes open" or "he's smiling at me". I try to tell her that Maddie is a she, but she just doesn't get it for some reason! Maddie is a pretty good baby. She sleeps a lot which is nice and loves to eat. She is also a little cuddler which is fun, and also makes Sammy a little more cuddlier too. As you can see here with her dad. Jake was holding Maddie and then Sammy had to come cuddle up next to him too!

Our Little Baby is Here

Little Maddie was born yesterday, November 19, 2008, at 7:45 pm weighing in at 6 lbs 12 ounces and 20 inches long. She took a long time getting here but we are glad that she finally came! So far, she has been an excellent little sleeper and eater and just a good little baby to be have! Samantha seems to like her as well, if you can tell from these pictures, and even gave her hugs and kisses today.

Tomorrow...just thinking about tomorrow

Tomorrow is the big day that I will be induced. I am both excited and nervous to have this 2nd little one! It has been hard to sleep these last couple of nights just knowing that I will be having this baby soon. Although I know that I really should be taking advantage of a full night's rest since I won't be getting one for quite awhile! We will definitely post some pics once Maddie is here!
I was also thankful to make it through my sister's wedding on Saturday because I really wanted to be there for her special day. And it definitely was. I am so happy for her and Wes, they make such a cute couple! Here are some pics that I stole from my awesome aunt because I don't have any yet! Doesn't Emily look gorgeous? (and her new hubby is pretty cute too)

Anyone want some chicken?

Well definitely not anyone in the Jenne household, considering we all got food poisoning from some chicken this last weekend. Needless to say, it was not fun to be super sick all weekend but we are finally BETTER! It was sad because Sammy called throwing up "sneezing" and would run to get tissues when her turn would come, like they would help much! Anyhow, we are glad to be on the mend. I decided to not post any pics of the sickies but here are some cute pics of Sammy and her cousin Tay taken recently!

Sleepover

SO Sammy and Taylor had a sleepover two weeks ago, and they had a lot of fun dancing while Jake played the guitar. It was really cute!

Happy Halloween!

Well we are excited here for Halloween at the Jenne house. Sammy can't wait to go trick or treating at her daddy's work today and with her cousins around our neighborhood tonight. We will be sure to take some good pictures!

Earlier this week, the traditional old BYU ward group met for Gardner's Village and it was a lot of fun. The kids had fun playing together and it was nice because it actually wasn't too busy. It was also fun to see all the girls and how big the kids have gotten! Time sure flies when you don't see everyone! Here are some pics of the kids, I think Jamie has the picture with the moms which I will have to get for scrappin purposes!

4 weeks to go

So I am counting down especially now that I have four weeks to go. My doctor said he will induce me a week early if everything is on track so hopefully it will continue to be. I am just so uncomfortable now and would love to have the baby anytime but only Maddie knows when her birthday will be.
Last night we carved pumpkins and it was a lot of fun. Sammy called all the messy insides of the pumpkin "ewie stuff" which was pretty funny because she kept saying she wanted more "ewie" to throw away. So everyone kept giving her the inside pumpkin goop, needless to say it got everywhere! She was pretty sad when she learned her little pumpkin had to stay outside on the porch and didn't get to come in her room like she wanted. So today we have been outside multiple times on the porch admiring her little pumpkin. I just have some pictures posted here of going to a pumpkin patch yesterday and picking out the pumpkins which was also a lot of fun too!

My toddler getting older

I just realized today how old Samantha is getting as she is almost 2 1/2. I can't believe how little she used to be! Today as I was getting ready for church and also herself, she turned and said "Mommy, you are so pretty." I said "thanks Sammy so are you" and she said "yeah I pretty too." It was really cute. I took these pics of her in the leaves last Thursday before it turned freezing cold.

A Little Hike

Last weekend we went up Squaw Peak to see if the leaves were changing colors and they definitely were! Jake got some great pics and Sammy loved "hiking" around. She kept saying "more hikes mom!" We found a couple of little very small trails for her to walk on and she loved it!

Work today

So today I worked at my scrapbook store for most of the day (which is something I haven't done for a VERY long time) and Sammy got to spend the day with Daddy. As soon as I got home, she was immediately by my side and wanting to do everything with me. So I opted to watch the Relief Society Broadcase live on the internet which was very cool and Sammy was actually watching some of it with me. While we were sitting there, Sammy said the cutest thing to me. And just a little side note, one of Sammy's little nicknames is "little bug" or "bugs". I don't really know why we call her that but we do. Anyhow, we were sitting there watching and she turned and said "I love you bugs!" with a big smile and then she gave me a kiss. It was so cute. That made my day and made me realize how much I love my little "bug."

8 weeks to go!

I just wanted to post that I now have 8 weeks left of being prego as my sister calls it! I am so excited because well it seems somewhat close. I am so ready to have this baby as she is constantly moving and kicking me in the ribs making it somewhat difficult to ever be comfortable! I still have a lot of things I am working on and am trying to get done but hopefully I will be ready when Maddie gets here!

New Purchase

So I forgot to blog on here that a few weeks ago we made a big purchase and we are now a 2 car family. It is so great! Jake's work is actually moving offices in a couple of weeks and so he wouldn't be able to ride his bike anymore. We had been saving to pay off our current car, a little Honda Civic, and finally we were able to and bought this!

We bought a 2008 Ford Escape and it is black just like this picture. Sammy loves going in "my new car" as she calls it because she can actually see out the window. For those of you who know our little Honda has been good, but is pretty much the lowest model Honda makes. As we were test driving the Escape, the salesman kept pointing out the moonroof or satellite radio, and Jake and I were just happily checking out and playing with the automatic windows and locks! So this is the new family car and I think it will be great for a family of soon to be 4. I also love how easy it is getting Sammy in and out of the car, not so hard on my back, which is great since another one is on the way!

A little bit of everything from the past few weeks

Like I promised, some pics from Yellowstone which it seems everyone was there in the last month or so!

Sammy & her friend Aleia at the park. Don't they look like they could pass for sisters?

Lately she loves wearing sunglasses. One morning she refused to eat breakfast unless she was wearing them!

Here are a few pics from the Animal Farm at Thanksgiving point that Sammy just loves. She especially loves the horse ride and to me she looks so little sitting on a horse, or rather pony by herself but she loves it!

Also, during the trip to Yellowstone, Sam was obsessed with chasing chipmunks, squirrels and birds. Her famous line was "I scared em away" which she totally did. She also loved to run around everyone which was good since there was also so much driving involved. So here are some little videos of that!
