June 2012

For Sammy's birthday she got a butterfly garden, meaning she got a bunch of larvae that turned into catepillars and then butterflies and she got to watch the whole process.  She loves it because she loves butterflies and so she thought it was the coolest thing ever.  Well after they turn into butterflies, you can keep them for a few days and then you let them fly away.  Anyway, one of the butterflies had a defective wing and so it couldn't fly:( Sad huh?  So anyhow, they named it Butter and they loved holding it everyday.  It was sad when it finally died.  They were quite upset with me that I threw him away in the garbage can.  But Sammy said he went to heaven so it was okay.

Ethan also learned to walk this month!  Just right before his birthday! We are so proud of him. It was so cute!! And Maddie May is always grabbing him and trying to carry him everywhere and so he is always trying to escape as you can see in the last picture!!



Jake also went out of town for work for a week this month.  My sister Emmy and her cutie girl Haybells came to visit us and we loved playing with them!


Going Backwards-May 2012

So I haven't blogged in forever and I really want to catch up so here I go!!

May 2012

Both girls graduated from school.  Here is Maddie with her gymnastic class.  They did a cute little dance with capes and then graduated.  She loved her teacher Miss Diana and LOVED doing gymnastics and so we will have to sign her up for another class come the fall!

Sammy graduated from Kindergarten.  It was packed in their little classroom and so the best pictures are after the actual graduation.  Sammy did so good and was such a big girl! We are so proud of her.  She also did really well and is starting to read very well.  She also loves doing math problems (just like her dad).

Little E turned 10 months old.  He is not walking yet but can get around pretty well and likes to pull himself up.  We had to use this baby gate a lot because he was so crazy around our stairs! Its been a hard few months with his mobile little self but we still love this little guys like crazy! He is such a good, happy baby and we love him lots!

We also decided to build a house down by Utah Lake at the Vineyard Shores and everything worked out so that we were able to close on our lot and construction loan this month.  We then waited most of the month for the city to give us our permit...lots of fun!!!

Busy celebrating this girl's birthday.....

In reverse order apparently....so last night we had a big family party for the birthday girl.  We had shredded chicken sandwiches, chips, fruit and veggies in the backyard.  The kids ran around and played on the swings and jumped on the tramp.  Sammy even learned how to do a front flip, taught by Makaya:)  She received a lot of fun artsy presents and should keep busy for a bit.  Stats on Sammy:

6 years old

Likes: loves playing outside with friends, likes to keep really busy all the time doing projects, play with Maddie, do front flips on the trampoline, popsicles, going to the park, read, playing the wii, bubbles

Dislikes: getting dressed, going to bed, doing homework, getting ready for school

Favorite food: pineapple (that is new to me!!)

On her real birthday, Monday, she got to take 3 friends to a movie, the Lorax.  Ashlyn, Azelynn, Claire, and Maddie had a blast and thought it was really funny.  The girls all did really good.  We then went back to our house and we ate hotdogs, watermelon, and chips for dinner (which Sammy picked).  She opened presents and we then ate her pony cake (which turned out alright).  At least she knew it was Rainbow Dash (one of the ponies).

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for watching Ethan while we were at the movie theater.  They said he was good, although here he is starting to get mad for food! 

The girls also enjoyed taking random pictures of each other.....kinda funny.

It's March!!

Maddie got a new cute haircut!!

E turned 8 months old!! He loves eating real people food, bath time, playing with toys and sisters, standing up and letting go!! He also just learned to roll over but is NOT crawling yet!

and we finally finished the downstairs bathroom!!! Go Jake, the awesome handyman, who can do anything (especially in 8 days time)

It's been a busy few weeks as usual in the Jenne house!!

Best Homemade Granola Ever!!! and easy too!

Homemade Granola

4 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. wheat flour
1 c. almonds, chopped
1/3 c. oil
2/3 c. honey
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/3 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. brown sugar

Mix all ingredients together. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. After cool, you can add coconut or craisins if you like (we like ours just plain). So yummy to eat plain, or on yogurt, or with milk or fruit!! Enjoy!!

Christmas came and went.....

and I had no time to blog about it!! But it was great....we were all spoiled and loved spending time with family!!! So for January....we have been pretty busy playing and having lots of fun, even if we have to stay indoors!! We have been lucky to have lots of visitors to play with too!! So this is what we have been doing this month:

Ethan and Brooklyn (cousins) playing with toys (only 1 1/2 months apart). E was jealous when she started crawling away and he just had to watch!!

Ethan with his other little cute cousin, Hailey (and no Em, she doesn't look like a boy!) what little cuties!! Also 6 weeks apart. E is big for his age and Hailey is little, so kinda funny!!

E learned to sit up at 6 1/2 months old (he still needs some assistance) but also loves playing with his toys!!

Maddie and her friend Ryder had a playdate last week and were playing house all day. It was super cute and during house they were making snow angels (amazing, they actually know what that is since there has been NO snow!!)

Sammy had her first sleepover last Friday night with her besties-Aze and Ashlyn. They played and colored and watched a movie and ate popcorn. They ended the night reading books in Sam's bed and then giggling until 11:oo pm. Maddie also enjoyed the sleepover with them too!

and sick Daddy of 3 (he got a bad cold this weekend), still playing with the kids even though he didn't feel good:( what a good Daddy!

and it snowed last night!! We let the girls go out and play for a few minutes before church since it would probably melt before we got home!! They mostly ate it but sure enjoyed it!! Here is to hoping we get more!
